Examine manifestoes of parties-Minister

Bredi Number One (B/A) Jan. 22 GNA - Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, has urged Ghanaians to digest the manifestoes of political parties to be able to vote for the party that would promote the development of the country.

Nana Seinti was addressing the people of Bredi Number One in the Nkoranza District at the celebration of their Annual Krufie Yam Festival.

He advised the people to guard against negative practices that could affect the peace during the December general elections. He gave the assurance that the government would fulfil its campaign promises.

Nana Seinti urged the people to be careful in handling naked fire to avoid setting bushfires.

He announced that the Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council had detailed military personnel all district capitals to check against the menace.

Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, District Chief Executive, advised the people to invest in the education of their children and to unite and be active in communal labour activities to promote the development of the area.

The MP for Nkoranza, Mr. Hayford Francis Amoako, called on parents to monitor the movements of their children to prevent them from indulging in social vices.

Mr. Amoako called for collaboration between parents and teachers to promote discipline and education in the communities.

In a welcoming address, the Assembly Member for the area, Mr. Samuel Acheampong, commended the Nkoranza District Assembly for constructing a three- classroom block for the local JSS, as well as the Assembly for providing 24 low tension poles to support the community's self-help electrification project.

He appealed to the Government to rehabilitate the 12-kilometre feeder road from Bredi Number One through Dasagwa to Pienyina to facilitate the movement of people and their farm produce. Mr. Acheampong announced that the people had launched a programme to promote education as well as provision of water, good sanitation and n electrification project.

He appealed to the District Assembly for support. Mr. Nick Danso Agyei, popularly called Danso Abeam, presided over a fund- raising rally and offered 20 million cedis in support of on-going development projects.
