Accra, April 26, GNA - Fellowship of Evangelical Youths for Development (FEYD), a subsidiary of Youth For Christ Heritage (YUFRIST), an NGO dedicated to the promotion of welfare of the underprivileged was inaugurated on Saturday to serve as a vibrant and formidable organization for developing the potentials of the youth. It also aims to pool resources, educate and expand scope of members on economic and spiritual development for growth of not only the Christian faith but also the general welfare of members and the entire human society.
Mr. Jehoiada Amuzu, Founder of FEYD who inaugurated it in Accra called for critical thinking, networking and resource pooling by the youth to enable them to withstand the challenges of the current economic recession facing the world.
Mr. Amuzu said partnerships, sharing of ideas and resource pooling for personal empowerment were critical at this recession period, adding that, one could not afford to remain idle and indecisive and hence the inauguration of FEYD to create the fertile forum for action. "We are airborne and you cannot afford to cross your arms in idleness and indecision", he said. He said the youth wielded enormous influence and must use it by putting a sustained pressure on authorities to create the enabling environment for them to exploit their God-given potentials for accelerated national development. He announced that YUFRIST would next month institute an investment fund with an initial amount of GH¢ 10,000 to support, not only members of FEYD but all who faced severe challenges of life.
Mr Amuzu said the fund would also sponsor initiatives in agro-business, literature writing and education of members and others who fell within the ambit of the target group of YUFRIST. Membership is open to all and further information is available at www.yufristghana.org.
