Mrs Emma Amoo-Gottfried, Founder and Director of Faith Montessori School in Accra, on Saturday said the educational institution has invested much resource in development projects and programmes to improve academic work.
“Every student strives to excel academically...anything short of this would mean depriving one’s self, depriving the school community and depriving the society at large”, she said.
Mrs Amoo-Gottfried made the remarks at the 25th Anniversary Lunch and Celebration of Faith Montessori School, which was on the theme: “Celebrating God’s faithfulness, a remarkable past, a glorious future”.
She said the school had invested in science laboratory, information technology, library and purchased school buses and created a basketball court.
Mrs Amoo-Gottfried said “with all A level students qualifying for the universities of their choice, many obtaining A and A+ in all subjects...in the last 13 years ... our students participated in the BECE, they all had distinctions”.
Samuel Appenteng, Vice President of Association of Ghana Industries, said there was the need to invest much resource in the education sector as a way of reducing poverty.
He asked school children to be serious with their studies to enable them to realize their dreams.
