An ultramodern health care centre has been commissioned at Amangoase, a suburb of the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region.

The care center, which was commissioned in the hometown of Ghanaian legendary musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, aka Daddy Lumba, was entirely financed by a pro-Lumba fanbase association, Fantasy Club, to celebrate the legend's 60th birthday.

The facility, J.K. Fosuh's Memorial CHPS Compound, which was financed by the Fantasy Club, was named after his late father, who hailed from the community.

The beautiful durbar to inaugurate the facility also attracted dignitaries from far and near to grace the occasion.

Political figures such as the DCE, traditional leaders led by Nana Oppong Kyekyeku, who represented the Nsutamanhene, the entire Fantasy Club members across the nation, and the town folks were all present.

During the ceremony, the DCE for the Sekyere Central, Benjamin Kingsley Koduah, commended the Fantasy Club for such a wonderful initiative.

He said that though these facilities were supposed to be put up by the assembly, waiting on the assembly would slow development in the area.

He added that the excellent initiative by the Fantasy Club was going to cushion the assembly in its health care delivery.

Commending the Daddy Lumba fun-based club for their immense contribution towards the development of the community, he pleaded for more and pledged the assembly's unflinching support for any such an excellent move.

Assuring the assembly's maintenance culture for the project, the DCE said discussions had already been made with the district health director and health workers were soon going to be posted to start work at the facility.

He therefore entreated the community folks to always patronise the services of the facility to ensure its smooth running.

Meanwhile, the District Health Director, Susana Nkrumah, expressed her sincerest gratitude to the Fantasy Club for putting up such an ultramodern CHPS compound to ensure healthcare delivery.

She revealed the directorate's preparedness to post health workers as soon as possible and further entreated the people to support these health workers who may be posted there.

Yaw Appiah, the PRO of the group speaking in an interview with the media, said the Fantasy Club, which is made up of over 300 members, decided to put up the edifice to ensure excellent healthcare delivery in the hometown of the music legend's father.

According to him, the facility was funded by individual contributions made by the members of the club.

He disclosed that this is so far the biggest amongst the donations the group has made, as it intends to celebrate the legend on his 60th birthday.

"Saturday, 7th September 2024, would go down in history as the day a group known as Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba changed the narrative of a fan base in Ghana. Apart from supporting his craft works, there are so many other things we do to support the legend. Legends are supposed to be celebrated at the time when they are alive. Daddy Lumba has impacted the lives of many people and he is 60 years old this September".

"When we talk of the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba, we are composed of men and women who are ardent lovers of the music legend. We came together to form this enviable and unique club on 29th September 2019, with the aim of protecting the image and legacies of Daddy Lumba, he said.

Mr. Sanogo, on behalf of the club and its president, Joe Antwi Boasiako, thanked Daddy Lumba for availing himself of such a brand to make all dreams a reality.

He also thanked the Nsutamanhene, Apesemakahene, and Odikro of Amangoase, Nana Baah Boadi Amponim, for securing the land for them without hesitation.

Meanwhile, some residents who spoke to this reporter revealed how they suffered with the absence of a health facility in the area, adding that with the current one put up by the club, their health issues were going to be resolved.

"We used to suffer a lot, especially when you're in labour pain. Sometimes pregnant women were carried on a motorcycle before they would reach Nsuta to deliver their babies. You can imagine the stress," a woman said.

Nana Baah Boadi Amponim, who is the chief of Amangoase, thanked the Fantasy Club for not letting him down after he secured the land for them.

"This particular land belonged to a particular family that used to farm on it. When the club told us of their intention, I had to inform the farm owner, who didn't hesitate. We thank the Fantasy Club for such great work," he said.

He further disclosed that the whole town was going to make effective use of the facility and also ensure its long-lasting.
