Breman Brakwa (C/R) Oct. 9 GNA -An Asikuma District magistrate court on Friday remanded in police custody a 37-year old farmer who mistook his colleague farmer for an antelope and shot him dead. Kweku Inkoom pleaded guilty to a provisional charge of murder and was remanded in police custody to re-appear on the court on October 14, 2005.
Police Chief Inspector David Nkrumah Danso, prosecuting told the court, presided over by Mr. Asiedu Asmah that on September 22 this year, the accused person on his way to his farm spotted an antelope and shot at it.
The prosecution said the accused person decided to go for the animal but on reaching it, he found that it was human being to his astonishment.
He said Mr. Inkoom reported himself to the police at Brakwa and was asked by the police to lead them to the scene. The prosecution said the accused was arrested and charged with the offence.
