The son of the late Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Mr. Farouk Aliu Mahama as part his philanthropist gestures will distribute some knapsacks sprayers to over 400 farmers in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.

Again, farmers will undergo training on how to use the knapsack sprayers and other methods of farming to improve their yields.

The knapsack sprayers will be distributed to the farmers on Saturday after a training farmer workshop organised by the Partnership for Poverty Reduction Programme, a social intervention program to provide livelihoods for the rural poor in Ghana.

The Partnership for Poverty Reduction Programme, established by Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama is to undertake community philanthropic activities geared towards poverty alleviation and community development.

According to the young philanthropist, the gesture will go a long way to help farmers improve their yields and livelihoods, adding that, the programme is targeting over 200 farmers in the Yendi Municipal alone.

Alhaji Farouk said, his ultimate aim is to assist farmers in the area to fend for their families and to improve their standard of living, adding that, he will liaise with financial institutions and organizations to provide funds for farmers in the area.

Alhaji Farouk also urged the farmers in the area to take advantage of the numerous interventions by the NPP government to modernize the Agricultural sector

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama also as part of the Ramadan period have organized Quran recitation and breaking of fast (Iftar) in Yendi.

Mr. Farouk Aliu Mahama have received several laurels including citations and awards from various institutions due to his philanthropist works in the country.
