Keta, Mar. 12, GNA- The Keta Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at its Delegates Conference on Thursday, elected Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, the Adminsitrative Manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association GLCA) as its Parliamentary Candidate for the 2004 elections.
Mr Fianoo, a Journalist, polled 46 votes to beat his opponent Mr Emmanuel Vorkeh, the Keta District Chief Executive (DCE), who had 28 votes.
Mr Vorkeh was the parliamentary Candidate for the NPP in the 2000 elections, and lost to Mr Dan Abodakpi of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Fianoo said his victory was victory for the entire party in the constituency and called for unity among the rank and file of the party as well as hard work to ensure victory in the elections. Mr Vorkeh pledged his support for Mr Fianoo and asked all members of the party in the constituency to pool their human and material resources to ensure victory for the party.
Present were Mr Tommy Amematekpor, a Special Advisor to the President, Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Deputy Volta Regional Minister and the Ketu-North Parliamentary Candidate, Madam Agnes Okudzeto, Second National Vice-Chairperson and Mr Ken Wuud Nuworsu, Regional Chairman of the NPP.
