First Nkoranza MP dies

Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 15, GNA- Mr Ofosu Kwabena Poku, first Member of Parliament for Nkoranza has died at Nkoranza at the age of 81. Popularly known as Mr O.K. Poku, the late politician was the Deputy Minister of Protocol in the Government of the Progress Party, led by Prime Minister Dr Kofi Abrefa Busia.

The former MP hailed from Pinihe, a farming community near Nkoranza.

Mr Karikari Bediako-Poku, one of his sons, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Nkoranza that his late father died at home after a short illness.

He left behind a wife, nine children and more than 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later, the son said.
