Accra, Sept. 10, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday remanded a Weija-based fisherman in prison custody for slashing his colleague's left shoulder in a dispute over 10,000 cedis.
Ahiadogbe Logosu, who pleaded not guilty to causing harm will reappear on September 23.
Police Chief Inspector George Abavelin told the court, presided over by Mrs. Elizabeth Ankomah that on August 15 the complainant Mr. Akagbo Dzidzienyo gave 10,000 cedis to the accused to prepare a fishing trap for him.
However, Logosu did not prepare the trap and despite repeated requests for the accused to refund the money to him, he failed to do so.
He said Dzidzienyo was visiting his brother when he met Logosu and again demanded his money.
Logosu did not take kindly to the request. He rained insult on the complainant and this degenerated into a fierce argument.
Chief Inspector Abavelin said that Logosu, who was holding a cutlass, assaulted Dzidzienyo and slashed the left shoulder.
According to the prosecutor, the complainant shouted for help and one Mr Effuie who rushed to the scene overcame the accused and collected the cutlass from him. 10 Sept. 03
