Jamasi (Ash), Nov. 27, GNA- Mr Kwame Dapaa-Siakwan, Board Chairman of Sekyere Rural Bank, has called on pupils and students to cultivate the habit of reading to broaden their knowledge.

He said as students and pupils they should spend some of their time to read various books, pamphlets and periodicals to help them perform creditably in school.

Mr Dapaah-Siakwan made the call when launching a book entitled "Modern Poems for All", authored by Mr Yaw Oppong-Kyekyeku, former District Secretary for Afigya/Sekyere.

He said values derived from reading are numerous and that apart from helping to sharpen the brains of the children it also helps them to love their country and play their parts well.

Mr Dapaah-Siakwan commended the author for the very good work done and urged him not to rest on his oars but to continue to produce more of such books.

Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku has "The Tragedy of the Intelligent Chief" to his credit.

Mr Dapaah-Siakwan bought the first copy for two million cedis while Mr K. Ampadu, Assemblyman for Old Tafo electoral area in Kumasi and Bosomfuor Kwadwo Fordjour of Nobisu bought the second and third copies at 500,000 cedis each.
