The former presiding member for Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Nana Kofi Senya Frimpong, has sued Suame MCE, Dr John Osei Bobie-Boahin and six other persons for defamation of character.

The defendants include Hon Kofi Boakye Ansah, Assembly Member for Tarkwa Anomangye and Hon Abraham Amponsah, Assembly Member for Kronum Kwapra Electoral Area.

Nana Kofi Senya has also sued the Suame Constituency Chairman for NPP, Mr Bright Osei Agyemang, the Second Vice Chairman, Mr Richard Asante, Deputy Secretary, Mr Gabriel Bediako and Constituency’s Communication Officer, Mrs Lily Appiah.

Nana Senya is praying the court to demand a damage of Ghc400,000 from the seven defendants.

According to Mr Asante, the plaintiff, Nana Kofi Senya, who is the Assembly Member for New Suame, claims Mr Abraham Amponsah, on March 30, 2019, posted on three WhatsApp pages describing him as a person who has been declared wanted in the U.S.

The suit indicates that Hon Abraham Amponsah attributed the deportation of Nana Senyah to his involvement in fraud and drugs in the United States of America.

Mr Asante disclosed that the party executives and the MCE, were joined to the suit because they are administrators of a WhatsApp page.

The Second Vice Chairman expressed worry at Nana Senya’s decision since he rendered apology on the Suame Constituency Executives Wasup page on behalf of all the administrators as requested by Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei, who acted on Nana Senya’s instructions.

The Second Vice Chairman urged Nana Kofi Senya to withdraw the suit after having a second thought to help promote peace in the Constituency.
