Former Pupil Assists School

Space FM, Sunyani- A former pupil of the Ridge Experimental School in Sunyani, Mrs. Theresa Adjei-Mensah Boakye, has on behalf of her family donated books, pencils and erasers to the school as part of the My First Day At School celebration.

The items valued at ¢ 1.5 million, were made up four hundred pieces of exercise books and three hundred pieces of pencils and erasers respectively.Over two hundred stage one pupils are to benefit form the donation.

Mrs. Adjei-Mensah Boakye said the donation was her contribution to enhancing teaching and learning in the school. "The school has made me what I am today and I deem it very appropriate to give back to this glorious institution", she told Space FM in Sunyani.She added her family would periodically asssist the school in their own small way.

She called on all old pupils of the school pool resources to finance development projects in the school which was one of the best schools in the Brong-Ahafo region in the past.

Mrs. Adjei-Mensah Boakye noted that the government alone can not adequately develop puplic schools in the country and therefore urged PTA’s, SMT’s, NGO’s, philanthropists and old students, to put in place mechanisms to assist in developing schools.

The two Headmistresses of the Ridge Experimental Primary ‘A’ and ‘B’, Mrs. Selina Bentsil and Mrs. Grace Asibey, thanked the donor for the gesture and called on other old students to assist the school.The pupils also thanked Mrs Adjei-Mensah Boakye and asked God's blessings for her.
