Kumasi, Jan 8, GNA- Parents have been urged to co-operate with teachers in the training of their children instead of harassing and in some cases assaulting them.

This would help give their children the sort of training that would be of benefit to them.

The advice was given by Mr. Joseph Agyekum, chairman of the Saint Paul's Old Boys and Girls Association who presented gifts to Mr Appiah Kubi, their former teacher, on behalf of his colleagues. The 1980 pupils of the Saint Paul's Catholic School at Amakom in Kumasi at the weekend honoured Mr Appiah Kubi, who is now on retirement, for his dedication and commitment to work.

Mr. Agyekum noted that Mr. Appiah Kubi showed a special devotion for his pupils and also gave them sound counselling which helped them to achieve higher laurels. They therefore presented him with a parcel and a citation, which read: "Your dedication, commitment, hard work and love for children had made us what we are today".

Receiving the gifts, Mr Appiah Kubi expressed appreciation to the association for the honour done him and called on past students of other schools to emulate Saint Paul's school so as to motivate teachers to give of their best.
