Foundation presents items to community

Kenyasi (Ash), Aug. 11, GNA - Grand Rock Foundation, a Kumasi based Non Governmental Organization, on Wednesday presented items valued at about GH¢9,000.00 to the chiefs and people of Kenyasi in the Kwabre East District.

The items include second-hand clothing, footwear, bed sheets, wheelchairs, crutches and hospital supplies.

Mr Ebenezer Asante, Executive Director of the NGO, said the items were meant to support the poor and the needy in the community. He said the items were received from the organisation's counterpart in the United States of America, the Orphan Grain Train. Mr Asante appealed to the chiefs to allocate land to the NGO to establish a vocational centre to train the youth in employable skills. Miss Lisa Salma Abubakar, Social Development Assistant of the Department of Social Welfare, appealed to the disabled to register with the Department to help them access financial assistance and other support programmes.

Barima Owusu Agyeamang, chief of the town, thanked the donors for the gesture and promised to ensure that they were fairly distributed. 11 Aug. 11
