Accra, Oct. 10, GNA - Four sub-metros in the Accra Metropolis namely Kpeshie, Osu-Clottey, Ashiedu Keteke and Okai-Koi would soon commence the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). This follows successful completion of their office set-ups, and the coding of streets and houses, a statement signed by Mr Kofi Amponsah Bediako, Assistant Government Spokesperson on Social Services said on Sunday.
Its said Kpeshie sub-metro was far ahead of the others in terms of arrangements because it had reached the printing of the Health Insurance Identity and Facility Attendance Cards stages which would enable persons have access to health care in the sub-metros.
The statement said registration and collection of premiums in the sub-metros were in progress and the Ayawaso and Ablekuma sub-metros were currently engaged in the registration of households and also working hard to complete their office set-ups.
Collection of premiums in these two areas would start soon, the statement concluded.
