Investigations have been launched to determine the exact cause of the explosion
Four people have been left in critical condition after a gas explosion opposite the Sanbra Hotel at Adum in the Kumasi Metropolis.
The incident occurred around 5:50 AM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, when a food vendor and her workers were preparing meals for sale.
According to eyewitnesses, they heard a loud blast and rushed to the scene, where they found four people badly injured.
The people were quickly rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.
"The victim and her workers sell jollof rice, so they were preparing their food when the unfortunate incident occurred," a witness said.
"We are yet to understand what actually triggered the explosion, so we immediately called the Ghana National Fire Service, who came to the rescue of the victims," another witness added.
Authorities say investigations have been launched to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
