Fred Amankwah-Sarfo promises ex-gratia for outgoing NPP executives
One of the leading contenders in the National Chairmanship Contest of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr. Fred Amankwah-Sarfo has announced his decision to reward all outgoing party Executives with an end of service benefits after they have finished their term of office which is normally referred to as Ex-Gratia in political cycles.
The aspiring National Chairman who was representing the NPP on Atinka FM's morning show made these remarks when he was congratulating newly elected Regional Executives of the party in the just-ended Regional Delegates Conference in nine Regional Centres nationwide. To the losers, he wished them well in their subsequent endeavours and urged them to stay committed to the Party and act in its supreme interest.
Mr. Amankwah-Sarfo also sympathised with incumbent Executives who lost in the just ended Regional Elections recounting their enormous contribution towards the 2016 electioneering campaign.
He was of a strong view that, "although service to the Party and holding Executive position is a voluntary service, Party Executives whose term have ended due to losing an election or not seeking re-election should be given some end of service benefits after their tenure".
He further intimidated that, "just like MPs, Ministers and other Article 71 holders are given Ex-Gratia, the party needs to institute a reward scheme for executives who have finished their tenure."
He reemphasized his resolve to institute a recognition and rewards scheme that will identify and reward party faithful that has served in the best interest of the party.
"Under my Chairmanship, everyone's work that benefits the party will be documented, recognized and rewarded. As a Chairman, I come on board with three core objectives thus Harmony, Development, and Reward", Mr. Amankwah-Sarfo posited in his presentation.
