The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has not started any recruitment exercise, it has warned.

A statement from its PR unit said the GAF has not contracted any private organisation to do any recruitment on its behalf and therefore warned the public to be wary of any such activity.

The warning comes on the heels of reports that criminal entities are defrauding people through phony recruitments.

The statement, signed by the director of public relations of GAF, Lieutenant Commander MA Larbi, requested that all interested persons seeking to be enlisted or enrolled into the military should exercise patience until an official announcement or advertisement is published to that effect.

GAF is also asking the public to support in outing the fraudsters behind such scams.

GAF assured the public of an enhanced application process and smooth conduct of the next recruitment exercise during the course of the year.
