Dimango (B/A), Oct. 31, GNA- The Ghana Education Service (GES) has approved the opening of a basic school at Dimango, a settler farming community in the Nkoranza district.

The approval followed a petition submitted to GES by the District Director of Education, Mr Jarvis Agyeman-Badu after learning that more than 100 children of school going age in the area had no access to education.

The nearest school is five kilometres away at Ayerede on the Nkoranza-Ejura road and the children found it difficult to make the distance.

At a meeting with the parents at Dimango on Wednesday, Mr Agyeman-Badu said three teachers would be posted to the school. He appealed to the people to provide accommodation to sustain the interest of the teachers.

Mr Agyeman-Badu urged the people to plant tree seedlings and grass on the compound to beautify the environment. The Assembly Member for the area, Mr Martin Adjei, appealed to the Nkoranza District Assembly to construct a three-classroom block for the school.
