Nyinahin (Ash), Dec. 9, GNA 96 Mrs. Erica Serwaah Boateng, the Atwima-Mponua District Co-ordinator of the Early Childhood Care and Development Centres, has advised teachers to work harder with zeal and commitment to ensure success of the new educational reform programme. She noted that the Ghana Education Service (GES) would not tolerate negative practices on the part of teachers that would affect educational standards.
Mrs. Boateng gave the advice at a three-day workshop organised jointly by the GES and UNICEF for 77 kindergarten (KG) teachers at Nyinahin.
The workshop on the new curriculum, aimed at upgrading the skills of participants to enable them to improve teaching and learning. She said the good foundation of every child depended on the knowledge acquired at the pre-school level and asked teachers to attach importance to their work. Mrs. Boateng commended the GES and the UNICEF for organising the workshop and hoped that it would improve the methodology of teachers to enhance teaching and learning in pre-schools. She lauded the participants for attending the workshop and urged them to impart the skills and knowledge acquired at the workshop to their colleagues to help improve the falling educational standards.
