GHc 60,000 library complex for Tatale

Tatale, April 5, GNA - The Northern Regional Minister Mr. Moses Buka= ri Mabengba has congratulated the chiefs, elders and the Basare Youth Association for organizing their annual national congress to share ideas,=

identify challenges that confront. He stated that the challenges that confront them were not different from those of their other brothers and sisters in other parts of the Northern Region.

He indicated that poverty, diseases, illiteracy among other were som= e of the challenges. He said illegal migration, betrothals, early marriages and cross bor= der crimes are very rife in the area and the negative practices brought nothi= ng but a cycle poverty.

According to the Regional Minster Government has put in place good policies that will benefit the rural communities such as free school uniform, the Youth in Agriculture Module and training of youth in ICT Mr. Mabengba said government has received their petition about the creation of a separate district for Tatale and it was receiving some consideration.

He noted that good things would come only when there was peace and harmony in the area.

Northern Regional Coordinating Director Mr. Joseph Dasana, cut the s= od for the construction of a GH¢ 60,000 Modern Library Complex in Tatale. He said if they really cherish development then they have to abide b= y the theme for the Congress which was: "Homecoming for Unity, Peace Loving=

people".

The Paramount Chief of Basare Traditional Area, Obore Gariba Yankoso= r, assured the Government that Basares were peace loving people who would no= t do anything to disturb the peace in the area. Obore Yankosor expressed his appreciation to Government and the Zabzuguu/ Tatale District Assembly for the upgrading of the Tatale Clinic= to a Polyclinic, and the construction of a boys hostel and a dining hall for=

the Tatale E.P Agriculture Senior high School at Tatale.

Obore Yankosor appeal to government to complete the work on Tatale Township which was not tarred.

According to the Paramount Chief the area is endowed with many natur= al resource among which is the iron ore deposit at-Sheini, gravel and store quarry for construction purposes, forest and a vast fertile lands which a= re untouched among others.

He said that it is optimistic that the creation of the new district will enhance the discovery and exploitation of a lot of resources for rap= id development.

The President of the Basare Youth Association, Alhaji Habib Issifu, said the objective of the Association is to promote brotherhood and understanding among the youth of the area, particularly the Basares. Alhaji Habib said the Association would explore all avenues to ensur= e that all outmoded customs and negative practices in the area were stopped=

for the development of the area.

He called on all the people from the area both at home and abroad to=

contribute effectively towards the construction of the library complex to=

promote ICT and a reading habit in the Youth. He indicated that an amount of GH¢ 2,800 has been contributed towa= rds the construction of the complex library.
