The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), has ended its maiden international conference that formed part of the Institute’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, in Accra.

The conference provided a forum for researchers, practitioners, policy makers and senior managers from the private and public sectors in West Africa to present and discuss recent innovation, trends, experiences and concerns in development, regarding leadership, management and institutional capacity building.

The theme for the conference was: “Promoting Development Through Management and Institutional Capacity Building.”

Professor Yaw Agyeman Badu, Rector of GIMPA, noted that exchanges at the conference would help in enhancing knowledge towards the development of Africa.

He said the conference would be an annual affair on the calendar of GIMPA, which aimed to be a world class centre of excellence for training, consultancy and research in leadership, business management and public administration.

Prof Badu said the Institute that was established in 30th June 1961, was mandated to develop professional competent and effective administrative machinery to execute government’s development agenda in the immediate post-independence era.**
