Takoradi, July 24, GNA - Nana Kobina Nketia V, Omanhene of the Essikado Traditional Area, on Tuesday launched Ghana Telecom's (GT) high-speed Internet inter-connectivity Service, Broadband4u Internet Service, at Takoradi.

He urged GT to ensure that the service did not become a nine-day wonder and it should be efficiently provided particularly during the CAN 2008. Nana Kobina Nketia, who was assisted by Most Reverend John Martin Darko, Catholic Bishop for Sekondi-Takoradi, urged the company to reduce the charges for the service to make it affordable to as many people as possible and to promote business and community development. Mr John Appiah Boateng, Western Regional Manager of GT, said the company had mapped new strategies to meet the needs of its customers and had, for the past five years, given a face lift to its operations. The Broadband4U Service is a high speed "Always on the internet access" and it is the most reliable and fastest way to download data and has no limit on the volume of data to be transmitted.

Mr Joseph Wireko, General Manager of GT in-charge of Marketing Communication and Research, said part of the company's mission was to remain innovative and ensure that Ghanaians were part of the global village. 24 July 07
