Credible information reaching The Informer has it that, Mr. Williams Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the ‘ailing’ 2012 Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is very angry at what he considered “the insensitivity of his cousin, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko”

Sources close to the NPP’s “serial loser” (Akufo -Addo) have indicated that Nana Addo has seen photographs and video recordings of a lavish party that Gabby had after the announcement by the Electoral Commission (EC) that the NPP had lost last year’s December 7/8 elections.

Gabby, when asked to explain himself, said that the party was to mark his (Gabby’s) 10th wedding anniversary; an aide to the NPP failed Presidential Candidate hinted.

The aide continued that “there are reports in the party which Nana Addo had heard that, monies meant for the media houses that were supportive of the NPP and Nana’s bid in particular, channeled through the publicity committee of which Gabby Otchere-Darko is a member and played a vital role, did not get to them” It is believed that Gabby is the brain behind Nana Addo’s decision not to talk to leading officials of the party for things that he, Gabby had told him, and for him to celebrate Nana Addo’s defeat in the manner that he did, speaks volume exposing how insensitive he, Gabby is.

For example, Nana Addo is not in good terms with Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe because; he (Dr. Tamakloe) defended Ibrahim Mahama (President Mahama’s brother) over his loan issue, the aide pointed out, saying, the posture of Gabby and other relatives of Nana Addo really caused him in last year’s December elections. However, following allegations that Gabby might have used part of the monies meant for pro-NPP media houses to fund his lavish 10th wedding anniversary party which took place at his newly built glass house residence at East Legon, to the large extent goes to confirm Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s observations captured in his book, “Chasing the elephant into the bush”

To refresh the minds of readers, page 40 of the said book states in fact that, nobody was sure where and when the spending committee met. Regardless of whatever the campaign committee, the spending committee will make its own decision as to what to fund and what not to fund, to the frustration and bewilderment of many.

This group referred to sometimes as the Data Bank group included Kelly Gadzekpo, Nana Ofori- Atta , Ken Ofori -Atta and others.
