Yaakrom (B/A), July 30, GNA - Through the singular effort of one citizen Yaakrom, a cocoa growing community in the Dormaa Municipality, has benefited from a 20,000 Euro classroom block for its local Roman Catholic School.

The four unit classroom, an office and store that is at the verge of completion was facilitated by Nana Alexis Kouassi, a citizen of Yaakrom, who lives in Germany.

The Assemblyman for Yaakrom, Mr Francis Oppong, told the GNA in an interview that Nana Kouassi made contacts with the President of the German Academic Catholics Organisation, a Catholic non-governmental organization, Mr Hans Gerald Grevelding in Germany, and the project is the outcome of their relationship. Mr. Oppong said the NGO had completed a hand-dug well fitted with a hand-pump for the school.

He commended Nana Kouassi and appealed to Yaakrom citizens at home and abroad to emulate Nana Kouassi and the German-based NGO to improve educational, health and agricultural facilities at Yaakrom and its environs. Mr. Oppong deplored the bad nature of roads linking Yaakrom to Dormaa-Ahenkro and other market centers and appealed to the Roads and Highways Ministry to consider tarring of them.
