Accra, Feb. 20, GNA - The Ghana Evangelical Society on Saturday held a festival of the arts as part of its tenth anniversary of 'God Kingdom Glory in Ghana' at the Kwame Nkrumah circle 'Freedom and Justice' park in Accra.
The celebration, which was on the theme: "Ghana, arise and shine, your light has come and the glory of God is risen upon you," was attended by Christians in and around the metropolis. The three-day programme started with a symposium on day one, a festival of arts on day two and thanksgiving service on the third day. The festival of arts will include music, poetry from children, drama and dance.
Reverend Emmanuel Enoch Agbozo, leader and founder of the Society, said the festival was to celebrate "Gods Glory that has risen upon the nation."
"This is the time to sing and praise the lord for his mercies and kindness for the salvation of the nation." Rev. Agbozo said God has made Ghana a shining star in Africa and the whole world now looks up to it.
"The peace and democracy we enjoy now is not by chance but because God's mighty hand is upon this nation."
He noted that sometime ago many Ghanaians used to bow to trees, rocks and rivers, "but because of the rivers of the living waters flowing through the land," every village and city has turned to the Lord.
