Akropong-Akuapem (E/R), Nov. 2, GNA - The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Rev. Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, has said Ghanaians should not take for granted the peace they were enjoying because all is not well.
He said considering the kind of insults, allegations and counter allegations between politicians on airwaves and news papers and the spate of armed robbery and other crimes, all is not well for Ghana.
The Moderator therefore appealed to Christians nationwide to intercede on behalf of the country for peace to continue to prevail. The Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso said this in his sermon at the thanksgiving service to climax the 175th anniversary celebration of the Christ Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Akropong-Akuapem on Sunday.
The Moderator attributed the many crimes including armed robbery to love of money and wealth and called on family members especially parents to question sources of wealth of their relatives.
The Moderator therefore advised the youth not to allow to be pushed into crime by the excessive desire and love for money.
The Chairperson of the Akuapem Presbytery of the Church, the Rev Dr Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, said in 1835 the seed of Presbyterianism was sown at Akropong-Akuapem.
