Akim Swedru(E/R), Aug 08, GNA - Rev (Mrs) Alice Kyei-Anti, the chairperson of the West Akim Presbytery, has reminded Ghanaians of the consequences of disunity and urged all to strive to live in unity. She said disunity had ruined many communities and this sometimes led to spilling of blood.
''Differences in views and opinions should not breed hatred or conflict but rather promote community and national development,'' she said.
Speaking at the 56th Anniversary and the dedication of new choir robes of Akim Swedru Presbyterians Church Choir on Sunday under the team, "the Lord is Patient in dealing with us", Mrs Kyei-Anti advised Ghanaians to help establish a peaceful nation to attract foreign investors.
Mrs Love Osei Bosompim, based in London, donated the 40 Choir robes costing 12 million cedis.
Mrs Kyei-Anti called for efforts from churches to help address the problem of ethnicity, tribal sentiments, class, race and gender disparity facing the nation.
Nana Kwatemah Amakyem 11, the queennmother of Akim Swedru, urged the choristers to compose inspiring songs on such worrying issues as HIV/AIDS, indiscipline , teenage pregnancy and corruption.
