Ghanaians have been advised to exhibit high sense of responsibility and trustworthiness in their chosen professions in order to contribute their quota to national development.

Rev. Mawuli Dzidula Agudogo, the Accra Presbytery Chairman of the Global Evangelical Church, gave the advice during a send-off service for the immediate past Accra Presbytery Executives at the El-Shammah Chapel of the Church.

“Fellow Ghanaians, whatever your hands find to do, do it well and with all your abilities as unto the Lord. We need to remember that, we are all but God’s stewards and the day of accountability would surely visit us one day,” he said.

The Accra Presbytery Chairman said there was no need for workers to cut corners and use unacceptable means to accumulate wealth, but rely solely on God who was faithful in the provision of the needs of all.

Rev. Agudogo commended the past Executives for their immeasurable contributions, which included the purchase of a vehicle, securing, fencing and starting the Oyibi project among others.

He said the team of new Executives would build on the solid foundations laid by the out gone Executives.

“Within the next four years, we hope to secure a permanent residence for the Presbytery Chairman. We are all aware of the soaring rent charges we are paying currently. We would also work towards obtaining our own office space while resourcing the Presbytery at all fronts,” he said.

Rev. Felix Mensah Agbo, the outgoing Presbytery Chairman on behalf of his colleagues, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the current leadership for the honour done them.

He advised the incumbent Executives with the words of Jan Ziska which said “it is easier for a few, when united, to conquer than for many, when disunited” and urged them to remain united at all times.

Rev. Agbo said his team was united during their tenure, adding that, “unity is very important for the success of any collective effort, so make every effort to keep the unity of the bond of peace according to Ephesians 4:3.”

The ceremony was attended by several evangelists, pastors, and some directors of the Church, the Rector of the Global Theological Seminary, Rev. Dr. Christian Gbekor and Rev. Emmanuel Barrigah, Director of Church Life and Nurture, who preached the Sermon of the day.

The Past Executives who received citations as well as undisclosed amount of money include Rev. F.M. Agbo, Chairman, Mr. Carl Fiati, Male Presbyter, Evangelist Helen Felicity Ametewee, Female Presbyter, Ebenezer Senyo Agbeko, Treasurer, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hamenoo, Catechists’ Representatives.
