Ghanaians urged to pray for peace

Koforidua, Jan 1, GNA - The Anglican Bishop of Koforidua, the Right Reverend Francis Benjamin Quashie on Wednesday called on Ghanaians not only to pray for peace but also to do things that would bring about peace as the country entered into the New Year, which is an Election Year.

In a New Year Message released in Koforidua, Bishop Quashie appealed to traditional rulers and politicians to desist from making statements that promoted ethnic sentiments and created tension as their contribution towards the maintenance of peace as the country entered the New Year.

He called on Christians to pray for God's guidance in exercising their franchise and prayed for God's blessing for whoever would be elected to lead the country.

Bishop Quashie urged Christians to pray for a better New Year, saying, "you should not allow the difficulties of 2003 to come between you and God but to have faith that once God is in control there is always hope for a better future".
