Accra, Dec 10, GNA - Primez Ghana Limited, producers of Gino tomato paste on Saturday organized a national cook art contest, dubbed, "Gino Cooking Contest" to promote traditional Ghanaian dishes. The contest, involved 19 contestants, being winners of Gino regional cooking contest held in the course of the year under a three billion cedis sponsorship package.
Mr. Richard Ohene-Mintah, Marketing Media Executive of Gino who briefed the media about the contest said the company decided to organise such a contest to unearth traditional meals like "gari foto" which was missing in many homes. He said the contestants would therefore prepare the dish, Gino pasta and a special dish of their choice within two hours after which judges would inspect their meals and award marks for the most traditional meal and most creative meals, among other qualities.
The over-all winner would be given 10 million cedis, while the others would receive prizes ranging from Fridges, Blenders, Rice cookers, and kettles.
