Bolgatanga, Sept. 8, GNA - An Assistant Director of Education at the Bolgatanga District Directorate, Mr Joachim Akagre, has called on girls to make education their priority as the only way to empower them with skills to explore their talents.

Mr Akagre made the call at the closing of a four-day Regional Girls Camp for 40 girls drawn from the Builsa, Kassena-Nankana, Bolgatanga and Bongo Districts of the Upper East Region at Bolgatanga. He commended Action Aid for sponsoring the workshop to enable girls from the deprived communities to learn through educational excursions and lecturers.

Mr Mohammed Saani, Co-ordinator of Action Aid Educational Programmes, noted that his outfit has embarked upon various initiatives in partnership with District Assemblies and the Ghana Education Service to ensure that by 2015 all children particularly girls, have access to quality primary education.

Mr Sani said where there were insufficient resources at the disposal of District Assemblies and Ghana Educational Service, Action Aid would channel resources to achieve total education for all.
