Accra Dec.17, GNA - The Global Media Alliance (GMA) on Saturday donated items worth 10 million cedis and two million cedis cash to the Christ Faith Foster Home at Frafraha near Accra. The items, which included baskets of fruits, cartons of milk, biscuits, boxes of soap, bags of rice and some clothes and shoes, was donated as part of GMA's social responsibilities. Ms Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, Marketing Executive at Global Media Alliance, presenting the items said a strong community was the basis of a strong business environment hence the need for big business to help the community by giving to the needy in society. "We believe that corporate citizens play a major role in reflecting corporate social responsibility leading to objectives that contribute positively to sustainable development," she said.

Ms Akosa said children, including those in orphanages were the future of the nation and urged corporate bodies to support the needy in society. Ms Henrietta Asare Agyemang, who received the items, reiterated the need for organizations and individuals to support the orphanage. She said the orphanage currently housed 50 children but expressed the hope that with little help from the public they could take more children.
