Goldstar Air, a Ghanaian owned Airline has donated a glittering trophy to the Assemblies of God Church, the Greater Accra Region, for their annual fun games competition.

The Airline which has won renown or fame for its magnanimity presented the glittering trophy to Assemblies of God Church-one of the largest charismatic churches in the country.

The trophy was presented by Mr Charles Nettey, the airport manager of the company on behalf of the chief executive officer of Goldstar Air during the GTV Sports Beat program on Saturday, hosted by seasoned television sports host, George Kenneth Lartey.

Mr Charles Nettey intimated that the presentation was the company’s widow’s mite to the Ghana@60 anniversary celebrations Again, he asserted that Goldstar Air will push the threshold of its corporate social responsibility beyond just assisting the promotion, preparation and development of sports in Ghana.

Further, he intimated that Goldstar Air, whose pride and joy is to roll out products catered to the needs of the Ghanaian will be plying twelve destinations from Accra, namely, Baltimore Washington International, Dubai, Guangzhou, London, Providence International, Lagos, Monrovia, Abidjan, Freetown, Dakar, Banjul and Conakry and will spread its net wide to ensure that the Ghanaian products from the company are suited to the needs of the tourism and aviation sectors.

According to him, the airline which is coming up with Ghanaian concepts is here for the interests of the country and will create about five thousand direct and indirect job opportunities, therefore the airline will give a mouth-watering incentives, where passengers are given an allocation of three checked-in bags coupled with giving the travel agencies five thousand cedis seed money to boost and augment their operations, when they are registered on our selling platform.

He wished everybody a happy sixtieth anniversary celebration and expressed the hope to see everyone on board our flights soon.

The Regional Sports Organizer of the Greater Accra Youth Ministry of the church, Mr Samuel G. Mankrom, flanked by Mr John Tawiah and Mr Isaac Danso Otchere all representatives of the Youth Ministry, received the glittering trophy on behalf of the Church and thanked the Chief Executive Officer of Goldstar Air, Eric Bannerman, for his benevolence and support to the fun games.

The ceremony also had in attendance Mr John Ashong-Mettle, the director of Cargo Services of Goldstar Air, Mr Theophilus Wilson Edzie, director of communications, Mr Edmund Lamptey, and Stephen Glah all of Goldstar Air.
