The Omanhen of Gomoa Akyempim, Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea II, has appealed to the Inspector General of Police to provide him with a police guard as his life and that of his family are in danger.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Apam, he said on February 1armed robbers entered his house at mid-day whilst he was at a meeting at the Central Regional House of Chiefs at Cape Coast.
He said the robbers used cement blocks to break the door to his room and met his wife who shouted for help.
Policemen who were standing in front of Apam Police Station which is not far from his house, heard the shout and run to the house.
Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea said the robbers jumped over the wall when the saw the policemen approach and commended them for their prompt reaction that saved the situation.
He said he had been receiving some threatening calls of late from some unknown persons and added “I feel my life and that of my family is in danger. Please provide me with a guard.”
