Akuma for Africa, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has presented assorted items valued over $4,000 to the Gomoaman Preparatory and Junior High School at Gomoa Aseibu, near Winneba.

The items include five desktop computers and accessories, reading books, teachers’ notebooks, exercise books, pens, pencils, footwear and footballs.

Presenting the items at a ceremony, at the school, Mr. Alexander Kofi Acquah, Chief Executive Officer of the NGO, said his outfit sought to support the less privileged in society, hence the donation to aid teaching and learning.

Mr. Daniel Kwesi Obeng, Proprietor of the school, who received the items, expressed his appreciation to the donors for their kind gesture, and promised that they would use them accordingly.

He stated that from 2008 to date, the school had recorded 100 per cent passes in the BECE examinations, in spite of the inadequate resources at their disposal.

He, therefore, urged other philanthropists and benevolent organisations to go to their aid towards the smooth running of the school.

Mr. Frank Sakyi Ameyaw, Director of the NGO, urged the pupils to avoid truancy but concentrate on their studies to enable them to acquire the requisite knowledge and skills that would help them to confront challenges in future.
