Kumasi, July 18, GNA - Daasebere Otuo Siriboe 11, Omanhene of the Juaben Traditional Area, has implored parents to form strong partnership with teachers in the upbringing of their wards.

He described the formative years of every child as the most critical in determining as to whether or not he or she would grow up to become a responsible adult for the nation's benefit.

Daasebere Siriboe said for this reason it was the duty of parents to continually complement the efforts of teachers in monitoring the academic performance and moral conduct of their wards, and also endeavour to inculcate in them a sense of humility and God-fearing.

This was contained in a speech read on his behalf at the commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of Mother Smith International and Junior High School at Juaben in the Ashanti Region.

The event coincided with the Second Speech and Prize-Giving Day of the School.

The theme was 93Moral Decadence 96 the Role of Stakeholders". The Omanhene commended the founding fathers of the school for their vision and urged the management and teachers to work assiduously to maintain the success story of the school.

Very Reverend Joseph Owusu Atuahene, in-charge of the Effiduase Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, underscored the need for the Ghanaian youth to be mentored to appreciate their cultural norms and values.

This, he said, was necessary to build their self-confidence to overcome the temptation inherent in the infiltration of negative foreign cultural practices, which had already taken its toll on some of the youth.

Mr Daniel Adu-Gyamfi, Headmaster of the School, attributed the success story to their dedication and commitment to achieving the mission statement through quality education delivery.
