Government delegation mourns with Abra-Appiah

Mpraeso, Jan. 23, GNA - A Government delegation led by Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama was among thousands of sympathisers at the funeral of Obaapanyin Agnes Mercy Ohenewaa at Mpraeso-Kwahu in the Kwahu South District last Saturday.

Obaapanyin Ohenewaa, 90, was the mother of Mr Welbeck Abra Appiah, Managing Director of Amalgamated Bank and Chairman of the Professional League Board.

Other members of the delegation included Mr Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Mr Kwadwo Asiedu Afram, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Aggrey Ntim, Deputy Minister of Communications and Miss Susana Mensah Deputy Eastern Regional Minister.

The rest were Mr Kwamena Bartels Minister of Private Sector Development and PSI, Mr Okerchiri Adusa, MP for Nkawkaw, Dr Francis Osafo-Mensah, MP for Mpraeso and Mr Eugene Atta-Agyepong MP for Abetifi, Nana Kofi Kese, District Chief Executive for Kwahu West and Nana Onwona Asante, District Chief Executive for Kwahu South.

Vice President Aliu on behalf of President John Agyekum Kufuor and Ghanaians expressed condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family and the people of Mpraeso-Kwahu.

He said the many sympathisers at the funeral indicated that Obaapanyin Ohenewaa lived an exemplary life and contributed towards the development of society.

Alhaji Aliu urged the people to emulate her example, love each other and contribute towards the development of the area.
