Accra, July 26, GNA - The Interior Minister has on the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council, and by Executive Instrument, renewed for a week the curfew imposed on the Bawku Municipality and its environs.
A statement signed by Mr Martin A.B.K. Amidu in Accra said it took effect from Monday, July 26, and the curfew hours remained at 10:00 pm to 5:00am each day.
The statement said: "Government continues to urge the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and the people to exercise restraint to ensure that sustainable peace returns to their communities".
Government reiterated that there was a ban on all persons in the Bawku Municipality and its immediate environs - Zabugu, Binduri, Pusiga and Zoasi from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and any person found violating the directive would be arrested and prosecuted.
Government renews curfew on Gushegu Township and its environs
Accra, July 26, GNA - The Ministry of The Interior has on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by an Executive Instrument, renewed the curfew imposed on the Gushegu Township and its environs for a week, with effect from Monday, July 26.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Martin A.B.K. Amidu, Minister of The Interior, said: "The curfew hours for the Gushegu Township remain from 12 midnight to 4:00am each day".
"Government continues to urge the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth and the people of the area to exercise restraint to ensure that sustainable peace returns to their communities," it said.
Government reiterated that there is a ban on all persons in the Gushegu Township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon and any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
