Delivering the items, Honourable Ofori Agyemang Boadi acknowledged the instrumental role played by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Honourable John Alexander Ackon in lobbying Government for the items.

He said last year, through the commitment of the Municipal Assembly to improve the quality of education in the Municipality, a total of four hundred (400) mono and dual desks were procured by the Assembly for some Schools in the Municipality. Additional mono and dual desks would be distributed to schools in the middle of December this year, he added.

Whiles touting the achievements of Government in the educational sector including a Junior High School block at Bogobiri, Mampamhwe, Ayease and Kwabrakwa all in the Municipality, the aspiring Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East Constituency, stressed that it is important to provide furniture and uniforms to make teaching and learning very effective.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, Mr. Simon Alex Akoto, the Deputy Municipal Director of education felicitated the Government for the donations and promised that they will be put to good use to improve education in the Municipality.

He bemoaned the state of the Municipal Education Office which has not seen any major facelift for a very long time and called for Government to intervene.
