Hemang (Ash), March 22, GNA- Mr. Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, the Ashanti Regional Minister has stated that the recent creation of new districts by the government is good and must be commended. He stressed that the effort by the government would go a long way to reduce the burden of the distribution of the national cake to the people and thus augument the effective decentralization processes. Mr. Owusu-Ansah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Kwabre West was addressing chiefs and people of some communities in the constituency as part of his tour to the district to interact with them to know of their problems and how best to address them. Some of the communities he visited included Hemang, Abrade, Ejuratia, Nantan, Ankaase, Mpobi, Wawase, Swedru, Bomfa, Ebom and Adwumakaase-kese, Atimatim, Besease and Essen.
The Minister also used the occasion to inspect certain projects, cut sod for the commencement of other projects as well as the inauguration of completed projects in the constituency. The Regional Minister praised the people for turning up in their numbers to meet him and said he had not been able to visit them regularly due to his tight schedule but he has been working through some special people in the constituency and this has helped greatly. He said, though they did not see him frequently, he was with them in spirit and this was to be seen in the various different projects including the construction and rehabilitation of schools, completion of self-help electrification projects and the provision of street lights, construction of roads and other development projects spread all over the constituency.
Alhaji Akwasi Yeboah, Kwabre District Chief Executive (DCE) said the election of Mr. Owusu-Ansah had brought an honour to the district and the region as a whole and they must continue to support him to do more. At Hemang, the people appealed to the Minister to help with the completion of the town's roads, additional classrooms and construction a modern toilet facility for the community. At Ankaase, the people congratulated the Minister on his achievements of helping them with the provision of town roads, construction of a six classroom block and the School Feeding Programme. The people of Wawase appealed to the Minister to prevail on the contractor working on their six classroom block to complete the work on time.
