Kpadjai (N/R), Feb. 25, GNA - A clinic established by the Grace Baptist Mission-Ghana, a non-governmental organization in the East Gonja District in the Northern Region has been commissioned at Kpadjai.

Commissioning the clinic Reverend Noah Quarshie, Director of the Mission said the purpose of the clinic was to help the people have prompt healthcare service since the area is rampant to snakebite cases.

Rev. Quarshie said although the activities of the Mission include planting of churches, evangelisation, and training of pastors they have also involved themselves in establishment of hospitals and clinics to provide the people with medical care so that they would be free to serve God.

He said last year the Mission provided about 200 people at Kpadjai and its surrounding villages with free medical care in ailment such as malaria, worms, river blindness, high blood pressure (BP), skin diseases and dehydration.

In a welcoming address, the chief of Kpadjai, Nana Kru Wei II, expressed his appreciation to Grace Baptist Mission for giving his people a clinic to solve some of the difficulties they go through when one is sick.

He explained: "Kpadjai is far from Salaga and to carry the sick patients on bicycles to the hospital at Salaga is a big problem. And so it is a real blessing to have Grace Baptist Clinic established here in Kpadjai".
