Head teachers urge to implement suggestions of chief examiner

Ajumako (C/R), Nov 03, GNA - Mr Usman Ben Abdullah, Secretary of the Ajumako-Asikuma-Mfantseman Zone of the Central Regional Circuit Supervisors Association, has urged head teachers to study and implement the suggestion and recommendation of the chief examiner to enhance teaching and learning in their schools.

He said most of the schools that scored zero percent in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) had problems with poor staffing and the inability of the head teachers to study the chief examiner's report to guide them.

Mr Abdullah said this at the quarterly meeting of members of the association at Ajumako on Tuesday where new strategies to improve supervision in basic schools, effective and efficient monitoring of grants were formulated.

The secretary commended the government for the introduction of the Capitation Grant and called on parents to take advantage of it to enroll their children.

The members appealed to the government to consider providing them with vehicles instead of motorbikes due to their old age.
