Headmaster decries lack of interest in the pursuit of science

Agona Nsaba, Sept 8, GNA- Mr Vincent Arhin-Hayford, Assistant Headmaster of Nsaba Presbyterian Secondary School, has expressed concern about the declining interest of students of second cycle schools in the pursuit of science. He said out of the 865 students of the School only 94 were studying science.

Mr Arhin-Hayford who was speaking at the Science, Technology and Mathematics Education week, organised by the Agona District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, said there was the need for parents and teachers to encourage students to embrace the study of science.

He expressed concern about the lack of a resource centre and equipment to aid the study of science in the school and appealed to the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports and other stakeholders to tackle the problem.
