They should strive to enforce discipline by checking lateness, malingering and other negative tendencies among their staff. The District Chief Executive Mr Samuel Yaw Agyeibi Kessie, who made the call on Monday at a meeting with heads of department in the District cautioned that they would be held liable for any lapses. He asked them to work assiduously to increase productivity and assured them of his support.

Mr Emmanuel Badu, District Scheme Manager of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), echoed concerns about the politicisation of the scheme.

He appealed to assembly members to help educate their people about its benefits in order to reverse any negative information being spread about it, to ensure its success.
