The Upper East Regional Directorate of Health Services has received 19 vehicles valued at 3.3 billion cedis from the government.
The vehicles were made up of 17 double-cabin pick-ups, one cross-country vehicle and a haulage truck.
The Regional Minister, Mr Mahami Salifu, who handed over the vehicles, urged the health personnel to improve upon their output and deliver quality health services to the people.
He advised them to take good care of the vehicles, maintain them regularly and use them only for what they were meant for.
Dr Joseph Amankwa, Regional Director of Health Services, said the vehicles would help increase the efficiency of health delivery in the Region.
The vehicles would be distributed among the Region's six district hospitals, District Health Management Teams (DHMT) and the Navrongo Health Research Centre.
The Health Directorate is also expecting some motorcycles and a saloon car, Dr Amankwa said.
