Agona Swedru, Aug 10, GNA - Apostle Patrick K. Ennin, Out-going Swedru Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, has called on Christians to support the government to fight bribery, corruption and extortion. He said corruption, which had become a national canker could not be levelled against politicians and those holding high offices alone but to the whole society.
Apostle Ennin who is on transfer to head the branch of the Church in Nigeria was speaking at the first anniversary of the inauguration of the 500 million-cedi Area Prayer Centre at Agona Swedru. He stated that when Christians started doing the right thing and stopped corrupt practices the country would receive more blessings to make the nation prosperous.
Apostle Ennin cautioned them to desist from negative attitudes and to work dedication to increase productivity. He urged the members to respect their Elders and Pastors and to cooperate to ensure both the physical and spiritual growth of the Church.
He commended them for their support and assistance, which enabled him to achieve his vision during his three-year pastoral work at Agona Swedru.
The Reverend Omonoh Asare, Pastor in-charge of the Swedru North District of the Church commended the out-going Area Head for his hard work, which led to the construction of the Prayer Centre, adding that, it had helped in boosting both the spiritual and economic well-being of the congregation.
Nana Ekow Arhin, Managing Director of the Rings Travel and Tour Company, urged Christians to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable them to have access to quality health-care. He called on them to lead lives worthy of emulation since Christians were supposed to be the light of the World.
