High Commission donates motor cycle and hand pumps to hospital

Akim Oda, June 30, GNA - The Indian High Commission on Monday donated a motor cycle and two hand pumps valued at 20 million cedis to the Akim Oda Government Hospital.

The High Commissioner, Mr Kaikhosrou K. Framji, presented the items at a ceremony at Akim Oda on Monday, which were received by Mr Felix D. Yellu, a Director of Pharmaceutical Services of the Ministry of Health.

Mr Framji said the donation was in response to an appeal made to the Commission by the hospital and expressed the hope that the water pumps would help solve its water shortage problem, while the motor-cycle would assist to meet the hospital's transport requirement in emergency situations.

Mr Yellu, thanked the High Commission for the gesture and said the donation would enhance health delivery at the hospital.

The Senior Health Services Administrator of the hospital, Mr. Gyamfi Yeboah, said the motor cycle would assist them to extend their services to the rural communities where health services were not readily available.

On behalf of the hospital's management, he gave the assurance that the items would be put to good use.
