Accra, May 10, GNA - The Sekondi High Court on Monday 10th May refused to grant an application by Joseph Kwame Quarm against the Ghana Football Association restraining it from commencing the 2004 premier league.
It has accordingly awarded a cost of four million cedis against him, a Press Release signed by Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) copied to the GNA Sport said.
The release said the Presiding Judge indicated that he will give full reasons for the ruling on 1st June, 2004.
It would be recalled that Quarm, a supporter of Prestea Mine Stars filed a motion for interlocutory injunction against the FA. The Motion seeks to restrain the FA from organising the league until the final determination of the action taken against the FA in the Sekondi High Court by Quarm.
The 2004 Premier league was scheduled to commence on May 2nd under a novelty league format with a North and South zonal proposal to group premier clubs.
However, Quarm's Motion at the High Court enjoined the FA to suspend all the league fixtures awaiting the outcome of the court's decision.
