Ho Police Depot JHS gets cadet corps

Ho, April 07,GNA- Mr. Berko Owusu, Ho Municipal Police Commander, on Wednesday commissioned the Ho Police Depot Junior High School Cadet Corps to serve as a "stable for creating crime consciousness" among the pupils and instilling discipline in them. Mr. Owusu, who is a Superintendent of Police, said the nature of crime in recent times needed the cooperation of all to make the community policing concept feasible. The Regional Police Training School initiated the Junior High School cadet corps to create a network of peer educators in community safety and crime prevention. Mr. Owusu urged parents to encourage their children to join cadet corps at school so as to develop their security consciousness and be disciplined. He urged members of the cadet corps to be peace-makers as well as the eyes and ears of the police in their communities. The Police Chief advised parents and teachers to encourage the pupils to explore their natural inclinations towards crime prevention. 07 April 10
